Seville 1526: the first regular Cathedral wind band in the world is set up and consists of ”Three shawms, that is soprano tenor and contratenor, and two sackbuts.“ This programme reconstructs the sound which could have been heared there - voices and instruments alone and in combination. Escobar‘s mass is heared in its liturgical context with contemporary plainsong and motets by Josquin, Anchieta and others.
